How to clean and care for your Snuggler dog bedUpdated 19 hours ago
Mud, fur, drool, mysterious wet patches... life with dogs happens.
The good news? You don't need to wash the entire Snuggler every time something gets dirty. Its removable parts mean you can clean only the part that needs attention.
First, work out what needs cleaning
Start with the mess itself and only go deeper if you need to:

| Foam base | Clean it only if the mess has reached the foam |
Do not put the whole Snuggler dog bed in the washing machine. The different parts need different types of care.
The rule of paw: start with the affected layer. There's no need to clean the layers underneath if they're still clean and dry.
How do I take the Snuggler apart for cleaning?
It's basically the installation process in reverse:
- Separate the topper from the base by pulling apart the hook-and-loop straps.
- Open the zips on the topper and remove the raised-edge (bolster) inserts, if they need to come out.
- Remove the fabric base cover if needed.
- If you need to clean the base foam, remove its liquid-resistant lining first.

How do I clean the fabric covers and topper?
Wash and care instructions vary by fabric, so check our Fabric Care & Warranty guide for the correct instructions.
If only one part is dirty, just clean that part. There's no need to strip down the whole bed for one muddy paw print.
How do I wash the bolster inserts?
The bolsters should always be washed as one complete piece, with the batting inside.
- Remove the bolsters from the topper.
- Keep the zips fully closed. Do not remove the batting.
- Machine wash the whole bolster on a warm, durable-press cycle.
- Tumble dry on a low, normal cycle. Once completely dry, give it a good fluff to help restore its shape.
Do not unzip the bolsters or remove the batting for washing. The bolster casing uses the same liquid-resistant material as the base lining and is designed to be washed together with its filling.
Avoid bleach and excessive heat.
How do I clean the base foam?
Only clean the foam base if a spill or accident has reached it.
- Remove the performance cover and liquid-resistant lining.
- Clean the affected area with a mild soapy solution.
- Rinse thoroughly with clean running water, such as in a bath or shower.
- Leave the foam to air-dry completely before reassembling the bed.
Do not machine wash or tumble dry the foam base.
How do I clean the liquid-resistant lining?
For the foam base only: Remove the liquid-resistant lining only from the foam base. Do not unzip or remove any lining or batting from the bolsters.
Machine wash the foam base lining on a warm, durable-press cycle or delicate cycle.
Drip-dry in the shade and allow it to dry completely before putting it back on.
One last tip while your Snuggler is being washed
Keep the foam base and bolsters somewhere your dog can't reach while the Snuggler is taken apart for cleaning.
Apart from avoiding an unexpected chew toy situation, pet-related damage to uncovered components isn't covered by the Snuggler warranty.
Once everything is clean, dry and back together, it's ready to return to its regularly scheduled napping duties.
