How do I install my slipcovers?Updated 9 months ago

Installing your Comfort Works sofa slipcovers is simple! Here’s a step-by-step guide to get your sofa looking fabulous:

If Your Sofa Originally Came with Removable Covers:

Comfort Works covers will replace the original ones.

  • Remove the Old Covers: Set aside any pillows or cushions, then take off the old covers from the sofa frame.
  • Install the New Covers: Loosely lay out the new covers over the four corners of the sofa.
    • Start from the lower point (usually the front) and gently tug the covers downward, but not all the way.
    • Next, tug the covers over and down the backrest.
    • Alternate tugging from front to back until the covers are fully installed over the frame.
  • Tuck for a Snug Fit: If there’s room, tuck the covers between the crevices of the sofa frame.
  • Affix Velcro: If your covers come with Velcro, attach them to the complementary side stuck on the sofa frame.
  • Cover the Cushions: Remove the old covers from the cushions and install the new Comfort Works covers over the inserts.
  • Finish Up: After zipping up the cushion covers, place them back on the sofa and fluff the cushions to restore their volume.

If Your Sofa Does Not Originally Have Removable Covers (Fully Upholstered):

  • Install Over Upholstery: Comfort Works covers will go directly over the upholstered surface.
  • Follow the Same Method: Use the same method as above, but no need to remove the older covers first.

Special Cases:

  • Specific Installation Instructions: Some sofa covers have special installation methods (e.g., IKEA Friheten or IKEA Ekenaset covers). Check the product page where you bought your covers for specific instructions.
